Lokma

Turkish donuts

Ingredients:
250g flour
20g yeast
¾ glass of warm water
½ tea spoon of sugar
2 tbsp of butter
pinch of salt
frying oil

Syrup:
2 glass of powdered sugar
½ glass of water

Way of cook:
Put yeast with warm water and sugar in small bowl, mix it, let the yeast rise for at least 15-20 minutes. Mix all the rest of ingredients for dough, then put it aside and wait about 20-30 minutes. Boil water and sugar for syrup in a pot (you can also add a bit of lemon juice or rose water just for better taste), boil it around 20 minutes. In a deep frying pan or bowl preheat oil for 3cm deep. Make small balls from dough and put them into a very hot oil. Fry them until golden colour and take them out with spoon. You may also put fried balls on piece of kitchen paper to let them dry from oil a bit. While fried balls are still hot, put them into a bowl and pour a syrup on them, you can also sprinkle some grounded pistachios or coconut shrims.
